This single vineyard Riesling is showstopper. This vineyard was planted in 1987 with Riesling Clone 21B and the grapes were harvested early to retain the fresh acidity & make a complex wine full of flavour.
Made exclusively from free-run juice, this award winner is a serious Riesling for Riesling lovers that will continue to develop for years (decades?) to come. Made in the Sussreserve style - after the cool fermentation is complete pure Riesling juice is added back into the wine for extra flavour, balance and texture. This vibrant off-dry wine bursts with flavours of lemon, green apple, lime and pink grapefruit. Perfect with spicy cuisine like Thai curries, jerk chicken, spicy salmon sushi, Nashville hot chicken, jalapeno citrus salmon, and grilled shrimp tacos.

WINE MAKING
Harvested early, to retain great acidity, from Riesling vines (Riesling Clone 21B) planted in 1987 within the Four Mile Creek sub-appellation. Only premium free-run juice from Riesling grapes were used for full expression of the fruit. Some of the pure juice was collected from the settling tank and kept in cold storage until after fermentation. After a cool fermentation the pure Riesling juice was added back to the wine for the perfect balance, a process called Sussreserve. The wine was then aged for a short period of time in stainless steel tanks, then bottled, and aged in bottle for 12 months before release.
FLAVOUR PROFILE
Clear and bright with a fresh clean bouquet of bright lemon / lime citrus, golden kiwi, and site specific minerality and wet stone. A light-bodied wine with an off-dry approach and a refreshing finish. Flavours of juicy sweet citrus (Meyer lemon, tangerine) excite the palate; then as the wine warms on the palate look for notes of white peach to develop. The finish has razor sharp acidity which balances the mid-palate sweetness, along with flavours of tangy lime / pink grapefruit citrus, green apple, and mineral.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS
Serve chilled at 11 to 13°C. Serve with salmon quiche; poached or grilled salmon; Asian glazed salmon; spiced steamed mussels; sushi; spiced pork tenderloin; citrus glazed trout; lemon chicken; baked ham; chicken Tikka Masala with Basmati rice; lightly spiced Pad Thai. Best enjoyed now through 2029.
