WINE MAKING
Merlot grapes harvested from the vineyards of long-standing growers in the Niagara Peninsula. Seven months of French oak aging and a full malolactic fermentation to soften the mouthfeel.
FLAVOUR PROFILE
Deep garnet colour with a bouquet of black cherry and blue plum, with subtle sweet spice, smoky oak, and black pepper notes. A medium-bodied, fruit-forward Merlot with soft drying tannins. Flavours of ripe black cherry, spice, and sweet vanilla develop on the palate. The finish shows notes of ripe blackberry, black cherry, spice, mocha, and cocoa powder.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS
Serve at a cool room temperature of 16 to 18°C. The perfect everyday ‘house’ Merlot. Serve with Portobello mushroom burger; gourmet beef burger topped with grilled red pepper and aged cheddar; grilled red meats; lamb chops; three bean stews; beef wraps; meat pie; Bellavitano Merlot cheese.
