VQA

Deep garnet colour with an aromatic bouquet of smoky oak, cedar box, black pepper, and tobacco leaf, with fruit notes of wild strawberry, dark plum and blueberry. This is a medium to full-bodied wine with firm drying tannins and moderate acidity. Wonderful fruit flavours of red and black berries are accented by notes of spice and smoky oak. Black tea, black licorice, spice box, currant and blackberry notes linger on the extra dry finish.
  • WINEMAKING
Harvested from Vanessa Vineyard in the Similkameen Valley and Sandhill Estate Vineyard in the Okanagan Valley. Loose crush, gentle but complete extraction of the fruit. Warm fermentation, plus full malolactic fermentation.
Aged 14 months in American and French oak barrels; 10% new oak barrels to add complexity without overpowering fruit expression.
